The Central Team
The Central Team is the body tasked with helping National Offices with the implementation and maintenance of the common practices established under the Convergence Programme. These common practices have come about through intensive collaboration between National Offices, BOIP, User Associations, and non-EU offices and WIPO as observers, to harmonise the disparities in practices. As more and more common practices are endorsed, it is important that they remain updated in the ever-changing IP environment.
Who is the Central Team?
The Central Team was designed to represent the European Trade Mark and Design Network. Each of the Central Team members is a Seconded National Expert and will work at EUIPO for approximately two-three years before heading back to their National Offices to share the knowledge they have gained on the team and the connections between experts across Europe. This rotation approach gives the opportunity for other countries to propose candidates to serve in the future.
What will the Central Team do?
The three main tasks for the Central Team are implementation and maintenance support for endorsed common practices for National Offices, BOIP and EUIPO and strengthening of the European Trade Mark and Design Network. The Central Team will carry-out other tasks outlined in the Central Team 2015 Work Programme.
